Ausangate Snowy Tour 4 Days and 3 Nights

The route around the majestic snow-capped mountain or (APU) Ausangate, the highest in the Vilcanota mountain range, is magnificent and demanding, as it is one of the most important Apus of the Inca period, this walk is carried out above 4600 meters above sea level, during all its route, the snow-capped Ausangate now visited by thousands of tourists, unfolds in a spectacular and diverse panorama, its geography, geology, erosions, glaciations, snow-capped mountains (Mariposa, Callangate, Colquecruz, Campa, etc.), fauna and flora typical of the height, as well as picturesque customs of the Peruvian Andes, can be appreciated and enjoyed, in the artisan capital of Peru in textiles, typical dances of the Ausangate valley.

1st Day: CUSCO – OCONGATE – TINKI (3950m.s.n.m)

We start the bus trip at 10:00 am to be able to make some stops on the route, we will pass through nice typical villages of the mountains, in the heights of Urcos elpanorama is spectacular you can see the entire Vilcanota mountain range, thenWe arrived at the population of Congate, an important population of great importancehistorical (Lord of Qoyllorrity) and after 30 minutes we arrive at the town of Tinkywhich is located at 3850 m.a.s.l., thus arriving at a nice and typical lodgingWhere we will spend the night, this is the place from where we will start ourhike . (Lunch and dinner).

2nd Day: TINKI -UPIS (4200m.s.n.m)

After breakfast we will start the walk towards a pass of 4500 meters above sea level toThen continue along the slopes of the Ausangate snow-capped mountain, observing lagoons of variouscolors without neglecting the high-Andean customs of the inhabitants of this area andWe will also enjoy the presence of large numbers of llamas, alpacas,We will visit the small town of Upis (4140 m.a.s.l.), where it will be ourcamp (breakfast, lunch and dinner).

Day 3: Upis – Arapo Pass – Ausangate Extreme Pass – Ausangate Lagoon – Palomani Pass – HuchuyFinaya.

Very early and after breakfast we will depart for a long, tiring but pleasant walk that will take us to the first pass known as Arapa (4800 masl) from where we can contemplate the mountain range and all its shades of colors due to the vegetation of the area, we will continue descending towards Yana Cocha (4500 meters above sea level) or black lagoon where we will have an improvised picnic surrounded by a spectacular view, after a short break we will go up to the highest point of this route to the Ausangate Extreme Pass (4850 meters above sea level) from where we will feel ourselves touch the sky with our hands and also we will contemplate all the beauty that the high Andean nature offers us, already somewhat tired but satisfied by everything we have experienced, we will descend to the edge of the Ausangate Lagoon (46,500 masl) where we will ascend to the highest pass of this expedition, called Paso Palomani (5200 meters above sea level) from where we will have a spectacular view and overcogedor, over the Nevado Ausangate that which I can assure you will take your breath away.Today is an important day, we are going to get to the first of the two high passes, open Palomani. It is a short walk uphill from our camp to the highest pass of our trek. We will enjoy a unique landscape above 5,000 meters above sea level.With some nostalgia but quite cold we will descend a bit through a valley where we can camp and after a restorative dinner we will spend the night.

Day 4: HuchuyFinaya -Hatunpampa – Abra Janca – Pacchanta

We return to the town of Tinki where we take our transportation back to the city of Cuzco, where we will have a transfer back to their respective hotels. End of our services.
