Ausangate Trek 5 Days / 4 nights

Within the worldview developed by the Incas, the ApuAusangate is the most important sacred mountain in the area that surrounds the city of Cusco.

Day 1: Cusco –Tinki – PucaRumi 

Early we will pass by your hotel to start the great adventure to Ausangate, we will go to the south east of the city of Cusco we will cross a road surrounded by bus 2:30 hours of travel to the village of Tinqui, the starting point of the walk, passing several traditional villages along the route include Urcos, Cattca and Ocongate picturesque little towns that still preserve ancestral customs and customs that enrich our Inka culture until we reach Tinqui (3850 masl) where we will have lunch and then continue to the first refuge called PucaRumi.

Day 2: PucaRumi to Urpis (4,400 m)

After putting on the equipment and getting acquainted with your horses, the walk will begin surrounded by landscapes such as those drawn from watercolors, fresh air and a silent natural silence that will allow you to think about everything from the simplest to the most complex of our existence in this planet.You will spend about 5 hours walking to reach the community of Upis (4400 masl) where we will have a local lunch, after lunch we can visit the Puca Cocha lagoon which is one hour from Upis and then we will attend the rustic but healthy and relaxing Thermal medicinal baths of the Community called Aguas Calientes Upismejor can be found in Pacchanta on the fourth day of the trek.

Day 3: Upis – Arapo Pass – Ausangate Extreme Pass – Ausangate Lagoon – Palomani Pass – HuchuyFinaya.

Very early and after breakfast we will depart for a long, tiring but pleasant walk that will take us to the first pass known as Arapa (4800 masl) from where we can contemplate the mountain range and all its shades of colors due to the vegetation of the area, we will continue descending towards Yana Cocha (4500 meters above sea level) or black lagoon where we will have an improvised picnic surrounded by a spectacular view, after a short break we will go up to the highest point of this route to the Ausangate Extreme Pass (4850 meters above sea level) from where we will feel ourselves touch the sky with our hands and also we will contemplate all the beauty that the high Andean nature offers us, already somewhat tired but satisfied by everything we have experienced, we will descend to the edge of the Ausangate Lagoon (46,500 masl) where we will ascend to the highest pass of this expedition, called Paso Palomani (5200 meters above sea level) from where we will have a spectacular view and overcogedor, over the Nevado Ausangate that which I can assure you will take your breath away.Today is an important day, we are going to get to the first of the two high passes, open Palomani. It is a short walk uphill from our camp to the highest pass of our trek. We will enjoy a unique landscape above 5,000 meters above sea level.With some nostalgia but quite cold we will descend a bit through a valley where we can camp and after a restorative dinner we will spend the night.

Day 4: HuchuyFinaya -Hatunpampa – Abra Janca – Pacchanta 

After breakfast and when the dawn is barely breaking, we will start the adventure and the reason why it was worth choosing to do this walk and where we will put to the test the most perfect machine that nature could create “the human body”. We will start the walk with a small ascent to the place called Jampa (4700m.s.n.m), Paso Campa (5100 m.s.n.m), Beautiful Andean landscape where camelids coexist with the peaks of the mountains, guarded by the spectacular snow-capped Colquecruz peak. We continue the path downhill to our lunch spot and then continue descending towards the medicinal thermo baths of Pacchanta (4350m.s.n.m) where we will take a relaxing bath. An excellent ending to one of the hardest days of our trek.

Day 5: Pacchanta – Tinki– Cusco 

We return to the town of Tinki where we take our transportation back to the city of Cuzco, where we will have a transfer back to their respective hotels. End of our services.
